Typically you wouldn't save the image in the database.. you would save it to a file on the server and you would store the image path in the database.

What have you tried?

Assuming you already have a field in your Oracle table to store the image, what data-type is it?

Added: I agree with modi; typically, just the path can be stored in the table.

However, with a combination of "Oracle and VB6" I doubt that many will have specific, recent, experience of this, so you'll need to spend some time with Google (or other search engine). If you find and attempt some code then you might come back with a question.

This MSDN link looks very useful if you still intend to store the images in your Oracle database.

As Andrew has already asked, please tell us what you have tried so far and what problems you had. Post any relevant code, wrapped using the [ CODE] tags as described in the background of this entry field.

Doing this will prevent people going over ground you've already covered, wasting both their time and yours.

It also shows that you've actually tried to do this yourself.

Thanks.

Blob datatype? If you must use that then convert your image to a byte array and store it. When you need the image you'll have to make a call to the DB, get back your byte array, and convert it back to an image.

The link I provided demonstrates this, but I don't know if the OP has read it :whistling:

Okay.. so removing an item from one collection (and adding it to another) shouldn't be that hard.

So we are getting pieces of the story. Your actual issue is with saving to a database then? What exactly is the issue? Is there an error? If so what is the error text and relevant save code? Is it not functioning as expected? If so what is it doing and what should it be doing?

It would also be helpful (outside of seeing your exiting save code) to know how your database table - for this data - is structured.

Okay.. if you are already inserting into a DB then using a SELECT statement shouldn't be that far out of your knowledge area..

What, exactly, are you running up against problem wise?
