Either this is more common than it should be, or they've moved to Cincinnati. I was picking my then roommate up from work when he was approached by someone wanted to hand in an application. He worked at Buffalo Wild Wings as a manager. He looks at it, looks at the girl giving it to him, and says "La..a?" She gets this look on her face like he's stupid and says, "It's la-dash-a" I just facepalmed.

She didn't get the job.

Probably not, cause the girl with the name is just a child. I met the mother through my friend, never actually met the little girl.

And if that name is catching on...

well, as my ex-girlfriend's Italian grand-dad who doesn't speak English would say, "God bless America" as he throws the remote control across the living room.

Her name was La-a Kaczanowicz? Did her parents hate her?

lol...was the separation between Points 1 and 2 unclear? That would be a horrifying name. I just dug up a Polish name of no one I know so that I wasn't calling anyone out. So far as I know there are no Kaczanowiczs on here, in my story, or among my friends.

This one had to be 16-20 at least, I didn't look hard but around that age range.

I'm with your grand-dad

I don't particularly see the logic behind this. So, basically what he is doing is revoking the child of its name based on the premise that it was a title that belonged to an individual, for whom there exists very little evidence in terms of existence?

Religious folk can be so silly at times.
