Does using INNER JOIN ... ON... cannot be use in RECORDSOURCE SQL?

Posted 20 August 2013 - 10:23 PM

So after i create an adodc1... i set its connection string and the connection is successful... after that i go to the record source and there i set the command type as text and the sql like this:

SELECT s.name, s.phone, s.email, a.albumname
FROM singers as s INNER JOIN albums as a ON s.singerid = a.albumno;

the name of the attributes and tables are written as it is...after i set the data source of the textbox and then click the data field it says -- TYPE MISMATCH...

please help me understand it...
any help will be appreciated..

Does the same query execute directly in the database?

Also, try dropping the semicolon off the end of the query.

There is nothing wrong with the SQL syntax. The problem is elsewhere.
