Three 8 1/2 x 3 11/16" pages are combined on 8 1/2 x 11 page repor

Posted 22 August 2013 - 07:15 AM

I have a report in which the paper is actually 8 1/2 x 11, however it is perforated into three sections that are 8 1/2 x 3 11/16". (See attachment) The perforations are below the "Picked By" line and above the "C-Mix Large Run" lines on the sample. Also, each "small" sheet could have 1 to 12 records written to it in the main section.

I currently write the report to excel, print and then close Excel from within the code. This report has been as large as 500+ sheets of paper so it can get quite large. However, I would like to have this report created in either Crystal Reports or with Report. (I am using Visual Studio 2008.) I have tried creating subreports and using different tables but that does not work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Honestly - pick up a book on Reporting Services or Crystal Reports. What you are asking can be done, but both reporting subjects are pretty large and not something one can simply say "add a semicolon on line 12". I do reports off and on as my job dictates and I can say - yes.. reporting can handle that issue.

Crystal reports can handle just about anything you throw at it. You can also do totals and sub totals on items. Best way is to have info in a database and write a proceedure to pull the data.

I would suggest looking up highly rated books on amazon (or such) and check their indexes out.. see if those topics cover/meet your needs.
