I love how farrell2k never acknowledges that the Democratic Party is a part of the problem too, and that there aren't any idiots who vote Democrat for stupid reasons. Jesus Christ man, it's like you were wired to a propoganda machine at birth...

I did. I said the problem is with congress, which includes both parties. The thing with Republicans is that they're 100x more guilty than Democrats with their science denying, the propaganda claiming we have the"best health care system in the world", their "welfare queen" race bating, their claims of wanting "small government" after loading last months farm
bill with $195,000,000,000 in corporate subsidies, etc.

You can blame both parties, because money is infectious, but the party of "hell no" is the much bigger problem. One only need look at teabaggers as a fine example.

So, hoping to keep this on some sort of track, has anyone actually followed the links to figure out what these guys are on about?

For those of you who didn't, get ready for the shocking truth:

Quote

Last week, the Department of Commerceís Internet Policy Task Force released a report on digital copyright policy that endorsed one piece of the controversial proposal: making the streaming of copyrighted works a felony.

That's it.

There's no legislation to oppose, no elected officials proposing legislation, nothing to see here. Go make a donation to the EFF and get back to whatever it was you were doing.

Our objective is to create a versatile, decentralized network built on secure protocols for routing traffic over private mesh or public internetworks independent of a central supporting infrastructure.

Hm. A big decentralized network of networks?

What a concept. You could call it an "internetwork". Or maybe "internet" for short. I wonder why nobody's ever thought of that before...

I believe the point is that it won't be reliant on the existing "Internet".

It's actually a cool idea, and also one that's crossed my mind. Mostly I'm making fun of the way we've taken this great idea of a vast decentralized network of networks, and totally screwed it up. Go us!

Silly multi-national conglomerate of greedy, money-hoarding assholes trying to stall technological development and crap all over the general public for their own selfish gain.

The problem is with congress. It is the fault of big business and those at the top.

I know it's sometimes difficult to grasp, but read it a few times and you will probably get it.

So you're yelling a lot because your rhetoric misfired? Try saying something worth saying next time. "It's big business and those at the top who have so weaseled their way into government, that government either does not act without their input, or blindly follows their commands." What kind of mumbling is that? Is it supposed to mean anything? Or is it just something you read on the back of a cereal box and liked?

Yelling? Clarifying for those obviously unable to grasp the difference between a problem and its cause.

Mumbling? It's pretty straight-forward. You can deny or deflect, but that doesn't change the truth of it. What's happening in NC with Art Pope is a good example. Anyway, you're an idiot if you can't see it, so whatever.
