It sounds like the ladies (and for that matter the Krampus) need better PR. More posters.. more talks.. more role models. MOAR!

I think we all need to place offerings of chocolate, ice cream, and Midol in this thread. We will then wait for the lounge goddess, B9, to show up and judge the OP and this thread.

The goddess has appeared (as if tipped off my someone in a Facebook chat... hrmm...). I pass no judgement on the OP or anyone else in this thread up to this point. Is it a pointless discussion? Absolutely. Has it been offensive yet? Nope. If anyone should start chick bashing and misogynistic bullshit, I will gladly help them carry their broken bones to the door. Until then, carry on!

I dunno about the US, but in Egypt the number of females in CS and CE majors is quite high. In my school roughly half the class in each year are females. They do very well too, a lot of them are very clever.

I really would have loved to visit Egypt. The country is ruined now though. Sucks.

Ah.. yes.. any woman shaped creature venturing into the guy-realm of IT needs to have a few creepy passes made at them.. you know.. to show they are welcomed.

Even better - let's make the more 'geeky girls' of them delve into an ever increasingly esoteric question session to prove the depths of their geek-ness and weed out the fakers who are in it for the fashion/cool/popular trending of it.

In other amusing news - Borderlands2's DLC "Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep" has an amusing side quest on this very topic. Fake Geek Guy Poor Mister Torgue.

Something about the writing in Borderlands just makes me laugh way more than it should. TTAoDK is just another example of that. Fake Geek Torgue was excellent, and so were all the other parodies in it.

That's creepy, why would you think that?

lol DLC...Borderlands 1 wasn't good enough to convince me to buy Borderlands 2, let alone to spend money on unlocking shit that should have been included in the game at release.
