Creating a Global Website.. Specialist(s) needed

Posted 19 September 2013 - 01:21 PM

Hello everybody,

What does that thread stands for?

Have an idea but don't have a skills to do it.. so I came here to look for some help.

What do I need?

* Website with two type of users.. those who want something and others who got something to offer.
* Separate business and personal accounts
* As many search criteriums as possible
* Search by location: for each country separately and international
* Automatic area recognition at user logon
* Person authentication: via local bank, credit card or whatever other way..
* Paid services: pay for session, monthly payments etc.
* Different payment options: SMS, Phone, Credit card, Paypal etc. Local bank transfers for different countries (know that it probably requires bank account in those countries)
* Some of the users contact information hidden until paid.
* Multilanguage support.. languages can be added later.
* Blog/forum
* SMS/e-mail notifications for users
* Possibility to add mobile apps somewhere in the future. (or is it so that apps can be created later for any website without making changes to the website?)
* Connecting with social media
* etc..

There are definitely a lot of things that are not on that list and also there's stuff on the list that aren't so important at the beginning.

Just an idea..

The sites layout would be a combination of buy-sell website and typical dating site, so I have been thinking was it easier (cheaper) to built it from zero or find some script (probably for a Dating site) and make modification to it to get what I need..

Any related discussions are welcome!

Who am I looking for?

Wish to find someone who have skills and who think that he/she needs some extra work (not for free ofcourse). I'm aware of that good specialist are always busy but I'm not in a hurry (yet).. Important is that I can have a good result with reasonable costs.

At the moment the website is not the only thing in whole project that is not ready yet so there's no need to start building it immediately, I'd appreciate some discussions with someone smarter than me at the beginning.. to get to know the main problems, things that are possible to do and thing that are not. And the cost..

Primary task is the functionality, of course it would be good to have a whole thing but if you really don't want to do the graphics you don't have to.. I'll find some other way to deal with it.

Also you don't have to create any content, do optimizing etc.. I'll do it myself.

Any Ideas?
Questions?

Feel free to let me know what you're thinking..

More specific questions, talking about the money etc. are welcome to my mailbox of this forum.

Thank you, I actually tried creating it here at first but it failed for some reason.

Since you asked for thoughts, i'll add mine! :)/> Nonnative speaker, please be gentle...

- About the costs: This will probably be somewhat expensive, since it's lots of custom code; Probably multiple months of fulltime work, so even if you outsource it to India (and i don't think that's a great idea) it will still cost quite a bit. 3 months fulltime for 10 dollars an hour is still more than 5K dollars, and i think that's an extreme lowball figure for both the amount of work and the costs per hour. You get what you pay for!

- I don't understand exactly with "Person authentication: via local bank, credit card". Do you mean something like: Enter your person info and bank account number and (or credit card number) and the website has to contact the bank belonging to that banknumer/cc and verify that the person info you entered matches the bank account number? I honestly doubt any bank would send away their costumers info away to a third party so willingly...

- About the mobile apps: You could let the app interface directly with the website, but i feel it's way cleaner to use SOAP, REST or something similar to transfer data to the app. Less testing for breaking app bugs every time the website changes :)/>. Apps are not cheap either though. It's quite a bit of work and even if you outsource it you still will be set back serveral thousands of dollars if you outsource at the very very least.

- Payments and so on can be handled by specialised businesses. The one i work with is Ogone, and it works quite well. Costs a couple of hundred per month (depending on what you what options you want).

- Similarly, sending bulk sms can be handled by other businesses, like this one. Costs depend a bit on several factors, but it's about 4 dollarcent per sms, or less if you pay a couple of hundred a month for a premium package.

- "Automatic area recognition at user logon" can be created by using an ip-to-location database. These can be bought for a couple of hundred dollars by services like this.

- Please go on with the "etc.." part of your list. Some things that are hidden below the "etc.." mark might be easy to implement, but others might be a lot of work, or straight up impossible. The more you tell the more advice we can give!

Think dating/webcam/porn site and you have a fair idea of what he is looking for. Maybe with a different focus, but it's basically the same kind of thing.

If streaming video is alsom part of the project, that's another big chunk of work. Fun diverse project though :).

And i also had an idea this had to do someting about pleasures of the flesh, Bort, but if some people want to sell and other people want to buy, and it doesn't run afoul of the law, let them do as they please, i think.
