How to take screenshot of any screen

Posted 20 September 2013 - 05:57 PM

Hello DICs,
I'm wondering if there is a way in WP8 to capture any screen other than the application itself
what I'm thinking of is I create a background agent to take screen captures
but all what I found is using the WritableBitmap class to take a screenshot of a UI element in the app
is there any way to make it general? I mean take a screenshot of whatever on the screen?

Thanks
Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

An app that is a background agent that takes screen captures? Really?? I assume for legit purposes, right?

Yes of course I want to create an app that lets the user take multi screen shots with very little time separators and then he chooses what to delete and what to keep.

This is not possible in the current release of the SDK.

More than that, the purpose of the application you are talking about is questionable - I personally wouldn't want any app taking screenshots in the background when not in the app itself. There is a major privacy issue here that not a lot of users will take lightly.
