OK, I've added the images back to the original location and they all seem to be there now. Sorry for the mix-up. For some reason though, I'm not able to edit the original post.

The EF link is no longer working, but I can't seem to edit! It's at https://www.nuget.or...EntityFramework for those currently looking for it.

I know I am late to the party, but I just found this article. I am teaching myself EF for a new project and I have found this article to be the best I have found so far. It is written so well, I created an account on this site just to congratulate the author.

Well Done, sir.

really nice work, i was so confused with EF. but after going through this nice piece of work and hard work as free demo
i got my EF concepts more clear now.

one suggestion - on last section , please add the example with spoiler on how to use extended properties.

also one question - if i add the extended propert when adding partial class as one of classes of context i can see that property under that specific class , but can we use that property ? if yes how??

namespace DAL
{
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;

public partial class Department
{
public string Emp_ID { get; set; }
public string Dept_ID { get; set; }
public Nullable<System.DateTime> Dept_shift { get; set; }
public string Machine_ID { get; set; }
public Nullable<System.DateTime> lastactive { get; set; }

public virtual Employee Employee { get; set; }
}
}

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Text;
using System.Threading.Tasks;
using System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations;
namespace DAL
{
//[MetadataType(typeof(Department))]
public partial class Department
{
public DateTime getMachineName()
{
return DateTime.Now;

}
}
}
