Just remember to yell out the Team name whenever you run past people in wheelchairs. :wheelchair:

Ugh, I've managed to break my running shoes :(

Set out for a run this morning, and step on something sharp. Luckily my foot is OK, but now I have a hole in my heel (shoe) and it wheezes and lets in water.

Now I have to shell out some 50-60 to get myself another pair of decent trail running shoes.

FML...

I've been keeping a tight reign on what I'm eating (not calorie counting, just a conscious effort to make healthy choices), and I'm starting to reach the point of visible progress.

I've been eating a lot of Greek yogurt (Chobani Simply 100 Vanilla, to be specific... ~5 4-packs/week), unsalted roasted almonds (salt == blech), clementines/tangerines/mandarins (so many that I have one thumb nail with a semi-permanent orange tint), kale chips, raw veggies, roasted spaghetti squash... a lot of soups and salads. On days when I'm in the midst of a severe junk food craving, mixing a tbsp of peanut butter into my yogurt and tossing in a couple mini chocolate chips kills the craving very quickly. I've been limiting meats to two or three times per week and carbs to two servings per day.

It helps that the new SO is a bit of a health nut himself ("dessert" typically means an orange and two kiwi on his planet). Going for groceries now means being conscious of a fourth person's preferences... which means more money spent on fruits and veggies and less money spent on convenience foods and junk (besides, I can always BAKE sweets from ingredients and shit I already have at home... I just don't particularly LIKE cooking, so I don't do it often).

The kids aren't happy about the lack of french fries, chicken nuggets, cookies, and potato chips, but not only will they live - they might thank me one day. Maybe. I can dream. Let me have my dream.

Good for you B :smile2:

One major food problem most people have is that they eat too much salt, sugar, fat and not enough fruit and veg. Fast food and ready meals are packed full of salt sugar and fat (which is why they taste so damn nice).

Meats and Carbs aren't as much of an issue as people think, so take care not to cut down too much on them, they are actually rather vital to keeping your body ticking over.

There are plenty of carbs in fruit (when I say 2 servings of carbs/day, I'm talking about pastas, grains, rice, etc.... I'm not limiting the fruit). And there is more than enough protein in Greek yogurt to make up for the missing meat.

His fanciness wasn't assumed by the dating of me? Fanciness is a requirement. Remember: When in doubt, pinkies out. :euro:

The combination of crazy Texas weather and just being busy with rebuilding my computer room has had my workouts all messed up. I don't like running in the cold and when it is nice I have been working on my computer room. Now the room is done so hopefully the weather will get better. I have been doing the random body weight workout here and there but nothing really regular like before the new year. I am still hanging around the same weight which is good. Sticking to my mostly whole foods diet is working out nicely.

I'm going to assume that's referring to the Power 90 Workout, rather then the FN P90 (gun). Although it amuses me to think the latter.

I ran 6 miles last sunday. No walking just running. Took an hour was a great workout. I am also to the point in my diet where fast food makes me feel terrible. I am not eating too much of it to get to the terrible feeling stage. I had one pretzel dog from Sonic and a small onion rings and my stomach felt like crap. I have noticed it with other foods too. My weight still stays the same but the body fat % keeps going down. I have been at this for almost 2 years now and I am highly statisfied with my results. Hoping I get off early today so I can go for a run before dinner.

After getting back on track I am feeling better and doing better.

I saw woot was selling some sort of 'thunderbell'.. some 10-15lb device that can be used as a kettlebell and medicine ball.. though I may just pick up one of both and try and push more at home.
