Save the data as a binary blob?

try looking for support from your machine vendor. or even check other things in the box if they have provided an sdk and manual which developers can use when they need it.
most machine vendors usually provide SDK's and manual. try also searching from theier support site if they have any.
If you have the SDK and manual it will be easier for you to get the necessary data as you know the exact command and syntax to communicate to the device.

I already have an sdk of my fingerprint device, I downloaded the sdk from thier website the sdk work well it linked with my fingerprint machine. The sdk used ms access database.

My problem is......I want to used mysql database istead of ms access.

I am trying to modified the code and uses mysql database the sdk still work well but when I registered on fingerprint machine my fingerprint did not directly saved to mysql database.

By the way I am using OTA710C A&T...

PLease give some idea on how to save directly my fingerprint image from fingerprint machine to mysql databse..thanks in adveance..

What sort of object is the image in? As I said - convert the image to a binary array, and sort it in a "binary(max)" data typed column.

The image that must be inserted to database is the scan fingerprint from figerprint machine. I want save it directly to database to determine the time in/out of employee as well as the salary.

that sounds to be heavier lifting rather than just getting the employee ids from the and its time in/out and store to the database.

but if you really wanna do it. modi's suggestion will do it.

you will have to get the temporarily stored data from the ram store it into an array in your program and then convert it if necessary before passing it into your database.

Edit: Take note that it can easily make your database grow bigger instead of since you will be storing bigger data rather than just the User/employee id from the machine.
