Came across this wallpaper by accident but thought it was awesome. So I changed my color scheme to match it and very happy with the results. Also got the Tigers Matter theme for firefox which works well.

Stardock fences (for Windows) are kinda cool if you're interested in a neat desktop.

I've never seen fences. I've used a lot of Stardock stuff in the past, but disabled it all when I started on a web development project and never re-enabled it after. The icon packages override the default icons, and my WindowBlinds theme and corresponding icon package didn't quite match the theme of my web app...

I use Fences at home, though I find it uses a lot of system resources. I often disable whilst doing something intensive.

At work, this is me

Spoiler

Most of my work is inside VM's , usually Hyper V (which I dislike) hence the slight clutter of ISO files on the desktop.

I used to use Fences and liked it but, yes, it may be a bit hungry.

I'm on Windows 8 and it's a pain having to go back to the Start screen (the tiles) to start an application.

Rather than installing Start8 (or whatever it's called) I'm going to build my own folder structure using Taskbar toolbars. The advantage is that I can structure the toolbars, and subfolders, myself, and can add shortcuts to documents or web pages as well.

What you do is to:

  • Create a folder. I've named the folder Office and save it in My Documents.
  • Then add shortcuts to your favourite apps, and perhaps another (sub) folder.
  • Right-click in the Taskbar, Toolbars, New Toolbar, and find the folder that you've just created.

You can create a number of Toolbars in this way. Personally, I will limit it to 3 or 4 and use sub-folders to organize the shortcuts.

Fences looks pretty cool. I usually either just have everything pinned to the start menu or just search for it.

Yeah, it's from FF7 (Advent Children (movie), not sure if it's in the game, haven't played that for ages)

Cloud: Stay where you belong; in my memories!
Sephiroth: I will... never be a memory!

I like the quote and the background. The original Background is all white, with the characters in black (which I also have somewhere) but I find it rather glaring, especially early in the morning.

My background is The Pretty Reckless, because I went to their concert last night at The House of Blues on the Sunset strip in West Hollywood. So there's that.

I found it on reddit and was too lazy to change it.
