what are some tips to keep your body in shape

Posted 14 October 2013 - 12:47 AM

Iím 5í7 having weight 127 pounds. Normally Iím fit, but Due to my sitting job (morning 8 to evening 6) I have a fatty stomach which looks pretty odd. I want a flat stomach but there are a few conditions as well..

ē I donít want to lose weight rather I want to gain up to 135-140 pounds.
ē I canít completely avoid food that contains fat as I need them to gain weight also due to Iím a bad cook.
ē I donít need abs but at least a flat stomach because I know maintaining abs is tough.
ē Iím too much lazy to wake up early in the morning for jogging (I can try thisÖ)
ē I donít have a big friend circle to play soccer or cricket.
ē I tried sit-ups and running up to 15-20 days but do not have any effect.

I Have read A similar topic in DIC but my conditions are different .Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Gaining fat is a function of taking in more energy as food than you exert. How that fat is distributed is immaterial: to get rid of it, eat less and exercise more.

To say a little more:
  • eat food that you cook yourself, mostly plants, and not too much of it. Avoid eating food that comes wrapped in packaging - the more hermetic the packaging, the more you should avoid it. If you think you're a bad cook, learn to cook. Get a copy of Mark Bittman's How To Cook Everything (either the original or the vegetarian edition) and try something new from it three times a week. If you like it, make it a few more times until it's easy to do and you don't have to think about it.
  • Eat oatmeal in the morning - as in, rolled oats that you boil and put some fruit and nuts into, not some pre-packaged crap. There is no food in the world that will keep you satiated longer than a good bowl of oatmeal.
  • Learn to cook greens. Kale, collards, chard, whatever. They're tasty and filling and nutritious and cheap, they go with everything, and there's no way in hell you can gain weight by eating them.
  • Exercise every day, even if you don't feel like it.

Eat more junk food and fatty snacks. Fizzy drinks are also a good idea.

Remember, round is a shape too.

One thing my friend does (whom is in pretty good shape) when he wakes up he does anywhere from 100-200 push ups then 100-200 sit ups and some easy stuff with weights (curls, press, ect.). It takes all of like 20-30 mins and isn't nearly as hard as it sounds. I started it and lost a bit of weight and am starting to see some actual muscles grow back. :)

Beans, beans, they're good for your heart.
The more you eat, the more you fart.
The more you fart, the better you feel,
so eat your beans at every meal!

Best way to keep yourself in shape...

gOT IDEA FROM supersloth ,You can join some GYM, that will really help you grow muscles and reduce your belly fat. Beside that
try to Drink water 15 minute before your each and every meal.
Take light food at dinner.

All you need to do do in order to tone yourself and gain a few pounds while you're at it is to start doing some workouts. You don't have to hit the gym everyday or anything, just do sets of pushups / crunches to failure either when you first wake up or before you go to bed. Also some light cardio wouldn't hurt, but doing those 2 alone will help you with what you're working for. However, if you do have a gym you can go to, I suggest coming up with a workout plan and hitting the weights, also eating protein will help you.

Really? How?

I ask because this is usually a justification for "I have to eat lots of meat because I'm working out" and this is utter nonsense, as any vegetarian athlete can tell you. So if you're going to make a statement like this, it's really useful to quantify it, or it becomes pretty meaningless.
