Posted 15 October 2013 - 02:46 AM

My question is: What can I use instead of excel? My all database is there. I organize a courses for student and all their data is in excel,so I want something new and elementary? What are your suggestions?

New and elementary? What exactly is that supposed to mean?

What kind of database you use depends on what you are planning to do with the data; how it is meant to be used. If it's basically just a local, personal collection of things then something like Excel will do fine. If it's meant as a database for a client-side application, then something like SQL Server Compact, SQLite or perhaps even Access would likely be of more use. If it's for a more demanding system, like a server application or a website, then you'd want to use a more robust database server system, like MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and so forth.
