Damn man, those lava lamps kick ass! You need to send me one of those one of these days! I hope the event goes well for you and for DIC. If you want, you could setup a computer at the show and have people ask questions right on DIC... we could have the entire team here fielding questions in real time. During the day it takes about 15 - 20 minutes to get an answer to a question. Can't beat that publicity!

:)

I have been using my DIC drive for portable apps the thing is constantly being accessed and so far it has performed flawlessly.

A 4 gig kingston one shot craps 3 months out of the package.

I use my DIC thumb drive almost daily to transfer file between school and home.

It works flawlessly! :)

wow the lamps ROCK! I like the whole event thing, hope we'll see here on DIC what were the programming assignments, what languages were for the contest, and so on, and of course a complete report on what happened there.

right now java and c/c++ are the only allowed languages, i don't know if we'll be making any exceptions to those rules during the competition. after 6pm est we'll try to get all the problems used in the competition online with their solutions as well.

We won't make an exception to those langs for this contest.

Im pretty sure, the autograder will only touch .c .cpp .c++ .java files

You know, you guys could sign the lamps and make them "authentic officially autographed lava lamps". You could even get creative with your sigs and say something like "To such and such, you know your a DIC lover!" and then sign your name.

:D

The lamps do look awesome. I hope that the event goes well.

I like the idea about running the computer for the event, connected to DIC live/real time.

Have you ever touched a Lava lamp after its been running for like 6 hours?

As a self proclaimed acting legal adviser for this thread, I don't recommend that we should condone touching them...

Well don't turn them on silly! Or just turn them off for awhile until they cool off. Obviously you are not going to run them 6 hours and then hand them straight to winners and watch them burn themselves. Of course that couldddddd be fun.

I meant sign before packaging up and they are obviously cool to the touch. hehe :)
