Posted 04 November 2013 - 02:43 PM

Hi to all, i've been asking myself a question: what do i have to start with for working at google in computer science?
(google is an example, i don't care for which company).
For now i'm studying python but i've just started and i don't know if i'm supposed to start with something else.
(sorry for my bad english).
Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Know a main language or two (something you would see pop up on multiple job searches).. write code.. know how to get past the "I don't know where to start" hump.. write more code.. etcv.

IF you want to "Study" i would advise doing a degree at a university they normally teach you a wide variety of languages and then from there you can go into the direction of your choice once you know what language you enjoy.

At google or big companies like google they have so many different languages that they use from java to python to ruby to good old native c, so you can really get in with any language.
When looking at big companies like google they look at your other attributes instead just your ability to program one language.
