Does anyone know if putting games on a laptop will reduce the life of it? Nothing crazy intensive, maybe some Call of Duty 4 or League of Legends. Would playing games and running the fan too much be bad?

I suggest nethack if you're concerned about affecting the lifespan of the machine.

No.. I doubt it.. though fans can be picked up for cheap (assuming they are still being made).. jon,.k's idea is wrong.. not nethack - DwarfFortress!

By default no, software can not damage hardware.

However, if it's causing you to use the laptop more often, & you are not properly using the laptop (poor ventilation, high temperatures) then yes.
