Are these sets of RAM chips compatible with each other and my MOBO?

Posted 22 January 2014 - 01:14 PM

I would like to know if the following will work together:

- MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-HD3
- x2 4gb Kingston HyperX
- x2 8gb Corsair XMS3

The MOBO site says the 4-slots can take a maximum of 32gb and i only have 24gb.

But i'm pretty doubtful this will work though because the Kingston and Corsair have different timings and voltages, but i thought i'd ask because i'm getting the x8 Corsair XMS3'd back from RMA and woundering if i should stick them in with my x2 4gb Kingston or just sell them.

As long as they are the same architecture, the speed will auto-negotiate to the slowest bus speed (between the chips & the motherboard bus).
