Hosting node apps

Posted 14 February 2014 - 01:52 AM

Hi,

does anyone have experience with publicly (e.g. via PaaS) hosting Node/MongoDB apps? I canít decide whether to use AppFog, Heroku or any other.

Are you looking for free or paid hosting? If youre looking for free hosting do heroku. The ability to deploy from git is awesome. If you want to have paid hosting i would stay away from heroku because it tends to get expensive. I have no experience with appfrog. I personally use digital ocean. Reasonably priced and so far they have been very reliable. They also have great community tutorials for anything you would want to do on their servers.

if the project gathers enough attention, I may consider using a paid plan. anyways, thanks for your thoughts.

If you plan on using a free plan absolutely use heroku. Amazon has a free tier as well. I've never used aws personally so I can't be too add too much other than they have a free plan.
