Audio

Posted 21 February 2014 - 09:21 AM

I was wondering where (if there is) I would be able to set up what application plays audio within a browser? Even better (although guessing there's no way) is there a way to specify which application within a html page using tags and/or through javascript?
I'm currently using an embed tag and mp3 files. In all browser except Chrome I can specify how large the media player is as well. In Chrome it looks to require a larger area - viewing page element shows that Chrome has inserted a video tag inside the embed tag I had on the page for the mp3s. Why is that? Is there a way around it? I was able to resize the media players to be somewhat small on all the browsers except Chrome, the smaller area pushes the player up and half out of sight in the display area.

Thanks.

Eeesh.. forcing audio on a page? Not cool.

Have you looked into the HTML5 audio tags?
