struggling showing video in firefox using HTML5

Posted 23 February 2014 - 08:57 AM

Hi everyone,

I'm currently developing a launch page for a new website I'm building, but can't seem to get my video to show in firefox. It works fine in Safari and Chrome. Below is the current code that I am using. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong? Could someone please help me and guide me in the right direction. Many Thanks in advance :D/>/>

<div class="vid">
<video width="480" height="272" controls autoplay>
<source src="intro.mp4" type="video/mp4"/>
<source src="intro.ogv" type="video/ogg"/>
<source src="intro.webm" type="video/webm"/>
<p>Sorry your web browser doesn't support this video. It's all groovy tho, like our facebook page to see the video there.. Enjoy!</p>
</video>
</div>

What version of firefox are you using/testing? That is the general code to show a video with html5 and I know it works on firefox version 21 or later.

I would first remove the p-tags from within the video-tag, I think this should just be plain text.

video :mdn

It might be an issue on the server, read the section Server support.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the fast response. I found the solution from the Server Support article. I put Webm before the ogg file and it is now working fine. Thank you both for the support and advice :D/>

Cheers,

Sukh
