Google has changed the face of the internet and commerce in general all in a very short 9 years.
Have any stories you want to share about the Goog? Their stock is sitting at a pretty 569.30 at 10:28am ET. They've made a lot of people a lot of money.
What search engine did you use before Google?

It is absolutely amazing that Google is so young. Happy Birthday and thanks for all the cool shiz you've pumped out.
Pre-Google, I was an Alta-Vista user, but not limited to.

I was a big altavista user. Boy they have dropped the ball and opened the door to Google I tell you. But it is ok since I love Google and their products. I guess I am one of their best unpaid Google evangelists. I would preech about them in school but every time I approach a kid and say "Hey, wanna see something cool?" they scream and run. Then either the parents, teachers, or cops come a knockin so I usually have to scram pretty quick.
So I gave up on it.

I used Excite before google.
I was actually recently discussing with Chris about how Excite hasn't changed their design in at least almost 5 years.
Excite 2003 - http://web.archive.o...p://excite.com/
Excite Today - http://excite.com/
Even before that, like 2000 the design was pretty much the same.

I used, Yahoo, Excite, Infoseek, and Altavista. Now purely Google.
The friendster.com has changed their search engine from Yahoo to Google. I think early this year.
