Hi, nice to be here

Hi,

I've just decided I want to learn to code properly before I leave university, although that's in about 2/3 months.
Over the last 3 years we've done bits of Visual Basic, C, and bash scripting but that's it.

I've started with c# for no real particular reason. I find myself being drawn to wanting to program operating systems for some reason, I like the idea of being able to create my own system and be able to re-write/improve any Linux distro I may be using. This makes me think I should start with C++.

Besides that I've thought of a small project for personal reasons, as I'm a bodybuilder I like to keep track of my weight, I want to create a windows application with which I can enter my weight for the day and it will save it and show how many lbs/kg I've lost or gained since last time, at the moment that seems impossible to me, but that's because I haven't learned anything yet!

I just need some advice, cheers guys
