Yeah, I haven't seen any news on those kinds of switches. I do know that Razer's "custom switches" are basically Cherry ripoffs, and they're not considered as good. I actually hope these are good, because more options are always better.

But if you're interested in an RGB keyboard that does have Cherry switches (red I believe, but more should come) check out the Corsair K70 RGB:

Pricey, but sharp.

Nice. I wound up ordering that one last night (considering I am 95% sure I want MX Reds -- It does come with MX Reds according to corsair's site), should arrive some time next week and I'll be sure to write up a review of it once I get it.

It has some really interesting features that my current keyboard doesn't:
1. RGB Backlighting (pretty colors...)
2. Macros anywhere. Every key is programmable (granted, I am not sure how much use I'll get out of this feature).
3. Integrated media/ volume controls
4. Variable polling rate.
5. Anti-ghosting (my current keyboard only allows 3 keys pressed at once before it beeps).

Anyways, I decided that I have spent 3-ish weeks researching mechanical keyboards looking for what I think I would like. At this point I believe I have found it, but the only way to know for sure is to jump in and get one. We shall see how it turns out in the long run :)

Thanks for all the pointers along the way.

Are there any Bluetooth/ wireless keyboards of any value? Everything I have seen on the mechanical stores posted has pointed to no.

Still thinking about the kineses but, just to much for now.

It appears that a bluetooth-enabled mechanical keyboard will limit your results quite a bit. I did find this, but they are currently sold out, and it looks like it is running $177 to begin with.

Welcome to the club, BetaWar! Definitely post a review. Also post a review to /r/mechanicalkeyboards if you're a redditor; they'll appreciate it! Pics too.

I love these things. I start getting a fair amount of discomfort on most keyboards but I can type forever on these.

Seriously, that looks neat. I'm assuming that each fingertip switch is a five-way switch (like a d-pad that you can click down on). If that's a kit or homemade project, that's awesome.

I would disagree - this is a Data hand (and arm).
