So my wife this weekend has told me that we can move to other places besides NC. Of course there are stipulations:
States that have to have over 250k/year salaries to be even considered :Missouri
Sates that have to have at least 100K/year Salaries to be considered : Texas

Other than that I can apply any where.
Hmm, now to find some 70K/year jobs.

Just curious, what's so bad about Missouri?

Well I grew up there so I know most of it, but the biggest deciding factor is that my wife lost a child there in the Colombia Hospital.

Ah, certainly understandable then (Sorry for your loss). Whereabouts did you grow up at? I lived 18 years on the edge of Fort Leonard Wood and now reside not far from Columbia in Jefferson City.

I grew up in Kearney, Missouri. I have family in Waynesville and pretty much every where else in Missouri.

I've been going to the same place for 10+ years. Even now that I'm out of state they still handle our taxes :)

Well I missed my appointment with my usual lady, so I had to scramble and do a last minute appointment by my house with some old lady who smelled like a dog rolled in an ashtray, had cookie crumbs in her glasses, and didn't know where to put the info on my forms. ffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

More band practice tonight. Crikey it's a lot of work preparing for a gig. Finally found out more about the show we're doing. We've got a half hour to fill, so that should be fun. We're still fleshing out the set list but right now. We want to open with the theme to Buffy the Vampire Slayer - because the audience is a bunch of Vampire geeks.

Also potentials on our set list:
Drunken Lullabies
Hurt
Last Kiss
Hotel California
Dust in the Wind & Somewhere Over the Rainbow (together)
Road Trippin
Fade to Black

And we have some original pieces we're working on as well. It's not a bad start. They all fit the theme of the show in one way or another.

For a vampire-themed event, you should work up a cover of Rake, by Townes van Zandt

Somewhat ambigious, but it could certainly be read as a vampire song, and it'll work as long as you don't play up that part of it too much. It's a lot scarier when you realize that it wasn't about vampires at all.

And also the changes are pretty easy, so you can work it up pretty quick if you like it :)

It's times like these I hate being on-call 24/7. I've had 2 hours of sleep and have been working for 3 hours now. On a related note, if you are on-call 24/7 do you think the company should provide you with a phone? What about a laptop?

I dig it. I'll run it by the guys tonight at practice. Simple chord progression for guitar, I can turn the horn part into the bass line easily enough. Only potential concern is lack of drums, which we fixed on Road Trippin by having our drummer counterpoint on another guitar - could probably do something like that here too. I like it. Definitely fitting too, good call.
