Thanks Modi. I don't watch the show and haven't read the books. So it had me stumped.

Nein! You get one vote and you should be happy you even get one! Back in my day we had to walk up hill (both ways) and use a dull mithril spoon to carve a single vote from a living treant while fighting off hordes of goblins, bugbears, and owlbears.

I voted for snoopy's. It made me smile and it's the only one that seemed 100% home made.

Did the contest restrict it to English literature? :euro:

Way too use the old version of the sig modi! (:

Nice submissions! Most of them looked great, but some looked like they were mostly made up of an image with text added. I voted for the one I thought gave off the most aesthetic appeal and apparent effort, which was Depricated.

Actually depricated's is made up of an existing image as well, but I agree it kicks ass. I found two entries for "Hell's Bells" : this one, which is a false positive since the pic doesn't seem to illustrate any part of the story, and this one which is supposed to be part of a big apocalyptic trilogy called "Hell's Bells" and where the main character (who is a detective AND a wizard - how cool is that ?) brings a T-rex back to life in order to stop some nasty necromancers from calling ancient spirits and suck their energy (wooohoo !).

I would have loved to read both series of books when I was a kid.

Ya it's the second one.

Hell's Bells is the name that Jim Butcher has said will be the apocalyptic trilogy finale to his 20-book series "The Dresden Files." The climax of Dead Beat includes the main character, Harry, animating a T-Rex via Necromancy and riding it through Chicago. I didn't want to use the book title and just give it away, but I wanted to leave a hint that would identify the series for those uncertain or who didn't know and wanted a way to look it up. Hells Bells is an exclamation that Harry repeats countless times throughout the series. "Hells bells Molly you can't just do that sort of thing to people, it's bad." "Hells bells, she bought me a grave site..."

Here's the image source! And if you're interested in checking out the Dresden Files, pick up a copy of the book Storm Front - it's the first in the series, and it's only about 300 pages. They're all around that size, nice quick reads. And riding a Zombie T-Rex is far from the coolest thing that happens in that series. Also, my favorite bit of dialogue from that scene: "Hop on Ramirez!" "Harry, everyone else who lets me ride their dinosaur calls me Carlos."
