Have multiple panels that can be interchangable in aspx page

Posted 29 April 2014 - 04:39 PM

How would I go about changing out a panels content on the same aspx page in the same position on the page. To make this easy to understand what I'm asking help on, here's a very basic description of what I am trying to accomplish:

Lets say for instance I have 2 panels:

<panel Id="1stPanel"> ... panel 1 content.. </panel>

<panel ID="2ndPanel"> ...panel 2 content.... </panel>

now lets say "1stPanel" is in position A, which i'll say is the middle of the screen(no scroll).

Currently I have some javascript that when certain conditions are met, either "1stPanel" is hidden, and "2ndPanel" is visible or vice versa. However, when the second panel is visible it shows up below position A. I'm stumped on how I can get the 2ndPanel to show up in position A when the 1stPanel is hidden.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Well visibility just makes an element hidden on the page but that element still continues to take up the space on the page that it was given. If you set display:none on the element it will not take up either but still be included in the page. Your best bet is to just skip using hidden and use the css property, display instead.

.Gone
{
Display:none;
}
