Writing a script?

Posted 26 May 2014 - 04:11 AM

I'm Emma, 22, studying and working to pay my bills. I have taken a new job at a big company and there is a problem they want me to solve it. I would love to hear some help and hints, how I can program/script to make it work:

- my co workers put data in an excel sheet (lots of rows and columns)
-> they highlight which rows they want to use (maybe put an "X" in the first column?)
-> the script now should go automaticly to an already finished intranet page, click on a popup, put in all the data one by one, click on buttons, wait etc., then click on submit

1. What is the easiest way to write a script that can easily copy & paste data from excel? Is VBA possible? What languages are better?

2. I dont have any acces to the data server, nor to mySQL. This means it can only be a frontend solution, right?

I am very sorry if some of you feel offended by my "nooby" questions. I am not into programming (only done some Pascal and VBA just4fun). It means much to me if you would give me some advice. :(
