Posted 01 June 2014 - 11:07 PM

Hi every one

I come to this forum, after spending weeks of searching across sites, to resolve my problem, so far no solution yet, I am very desperate!!! need help!!!

lets begin, my problem, is I need to change the background of text color in posts only( means the highlighted only text background), which is yellow, I want to change it to another color through CSS, or HTML...how can I do that???

I think do this, is not that hard, but I am very new to the blog world, and almost know nothing about codes/CSS/HTML ETC...

this is my blog https://unified-fron...na.blogspot.com

does any one have any knowledge here regarding the matter??

Thanks...any help much appreciated

Nature Front: That isn't the answer to your question in general. It's specific to the poster's code.

To change the background color of an HTML element use the background-color CSS property. As stated, you're kind of vague (rather not understandable) with your problem statement. If you have a code snippet, please post it, otherwise, I'll just have to leave you with this example.

It wasn't supposed to work for your website. It was an example of how to change the background color of text.

You need to inspect the HTML of your page, and make the necessary changes.

Change the style attribute of the span element to the color you desire. E.g.

<span style='background-color:black"

Unfortunately, you have a ton of these span tags... You should be using CSS so that the background color can be specified in one place. If that's the goal, then my first example is how you should go about it.

in blogger, our template that we edit is different from when you click the source of the page, when you click source of page, it does appear every thing, but not when I EDIT HTML..these things does not appear in edit.

thats the reason I am looking for code from CSS, that could change my background color, as the code I add it

do you know how to modify to make all full black?? I guess its not hard for the expert

Thanks

Perhaps you should visit the blogger support site. The only thing I can say further that may help you is try this CSS rule:

span {
	background-color: black
}

That should work as far as changing the yellow background to black for the text, but I'm pretty sure you'll have unwanted changes elsewhere, which ultimately, is why you'll need to edit the HTML. I feel like you're under the impression that you can simply add CSS to make whatever aethestic changes you want. Well, that's not true. If I create a rule:

.hl-text {
	background-color: black
}

Then I need to make the class attribute equal to 'hl-text' for every HTML element that I want to have a black background.

Edit: I suppose you could do a lot without editing HTML, but it's probably more advanced and just flat out bad code.

In the html document use span for styling particular line are word.
for ex:

<p>this is the <span style="color:#ffffff; background-color:#000000;">example style</span></p>

In css style sheet contain:

*{color:#ffffff; background-color:#000000;}

*{color:#ffffff; background-color:#000000;}

Just to note that it is inefficient to use the universal selector "*" for this, and unnecessary because if color and background-color are applied to body they will be inherited.
