I require a slideshow on a webpage that plays on its own and can be paused at anytime with click of the mouse. While each image is being played, text will show under each image.. simple right? Well my problem is that I am used to making these things in adobe flash, which is not compatible with most browsers these days, especially HTML5.
Therefore, can someone help me out / point me in the right direction so I don't have to re-invent the wheel or use "free" software loaded with hidden code?

You canīt really "hide code" when dealing with front-end web development. You can always just read the code and see whatīs there. Most of the popular solutions will no doubt be open-source as well, so they won't even be minified.
There are a lot of Carousel plugins out there that should do the trick. Try Googling that, perhaps including the jQuery keyword as well.
Thank you both for your reply. I did a search on jQuery and found WOW Slider. Seems simple to use without coding in fact, but requires you to pay $60 to remove their watermark. Ill keep looking though, thanks again!
