Input validation

Posted 07 July 2014 - 05:27 PM

I was given the task to use Javascript to verify input and make sure it is within a certain format at work. I know the basics but never used the /^\d{2}\.?\d{3}$/ style of verification. I guess I always did it the hard way checking character by character. Can someone point me in the direction to learn the syntax behind the character for validation and maybe some tutorials. I went on w3schools and found nothing. It would be much appreciated.

I would recommend checking out regular-expressions.info to learn about regular expression syntax, and the Mozilla docs to learn about how to use them in Javascript.
