creating a blogging system on my website

Posted 14 July 2014 - 06:33 AM

Hi I'm currently coding a new website with the main feature of it being my blog. What is the best way to get a system on there so that I can post a new article from anywhere with an internet connection rather than having to post through the markup?

Is there a way I could use HTML, CSS and PHP to create a logging in system where I could log in as administrator and thus be able to post through that? I've been looking online but so much comes up that I would be extremely grateful if you could tell me the best way to achieve this or even just link me to a good website.

Thank you!

Have you investigated any existing CMS? Drupal? joomla? Wordpress?

I'm currently using Wordpress for my blogging but is there a way of incorporating that into my own code/ website so that I could post through wordpress without having to use their themes?

You can certainly make your own theme.. but, typically, no you would go all in their system or not, right? I mean it is a content management system which usually means 'all in' for the content.

With a bit of elbow grease, sure.. it is possible. In fact they have something written up on it:

That's what you asked for.. okay.

What, exactly, is the question? Are you going to make your own CMS/blogging platform?

Well I have coded the website apart from a few slight changes and I want to be able to include the blogging system on there through the code but I think I might have found a way now hopefully.
