F2P games you play

Posted 16 July 2014 - 03:59 PM

Hi, just a little topic to talk about Free To Play you are currently playing. It can be MMO or FPS there's no retriction. It will help guys looking this topic to play funny games you love.

I start, I prepose:
PlanetSide 2 (MMOFPS)
HAWKEN (FPS with robots)
Need For Speed (A car game :bananaman: )
Visual C# (xD)

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

SMITE (MOBA)
TOME (newest MOBA - closed beta)
Minecraft (sandbox)

Those are my top 3 right now. I do play old school games on my Playstation 1 every once in a while, and those normally consist of RPG's Final Fantasy VIII, Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross.

generally speaking I'm not a fan of the pay to win model so I don't play very many "F2P" games. Last I played Planetside 2 they were the only game I knew of where the non-paying player could still keep up with a paying player.

I don't do pay to win either, which is why I play SMITE mostly. You can pay to get extra things, such as new characters, but you can also use in-game currency to pay for those characters. The only things you actually need real money to buy is some of the special character skins. I did pay money to SMITE though, for their "Ultimate God Pack" It doesn't help gameplay in any way, it is something you buy to get every character in the game from the past, present, and all future characters.

Free To Play. Typically a game you can play for free but almost always has features where you buy in-game content. Games that abuse this end up being more like Pay To Win.

Well.. it seems a little more easy to tell those true free to play versus the back end stabbers.

Quote

Google has removed the term "free" from Google Play store listings that describe games containing its In-app Billing API, even if that API is not actually used.

In so doing, Google has gone above and beyond regulatory requirements. The CPC rules require only that "an online game cannot be marketed as 'free' where the consumer cannot, without making in-app purchases, play the game in a way that he/she would reasonably expect." In many "free" games, in-app purchases are not required; they generally improve the player's situation without being critical to in-game advancement.

Star Trek Online.

Yes, it's F2P, and yes it's a bit Pay-To-Win with all of the ships in their store, but it is not necessary to P2W as all of the content is available for free, and you can get free ships that are more than powerful enough to handle the endgame.

Been playing the hell out of Camperstrike: Source again lately. Easily one of the most balanced games I've ever played. Sure it has flaws, but those flaws impact everyone equally. No microtransactions, just the initial money down for the game and you get the full game! It's so cool. Not F2P though since you have to buy the game to play, but free for life, so freer than most "F2P" lol
