@dep - the sad part is now any post from that cat (this thread or others) will automatically cause me to pause and consider what Simpons episode the reasoning, logic, and facts came from.

Ah.. so me thinks this *is* just a giant troll post.

No its not

While not all I can still say lots of things that go on in the Simpsons are generally 100% accurate. You know this to be true aswell as I.

Wow.. that is one of the more sad things I have read.. today.

As for your generalities - no.. I know it to not be true.

Piffle.

Life is just like the Simpsons. I'm 30 years old and still look like I'm 9 dude. Still talk like it too! And the Governator totes makes a cool President. You know HE would just drop a dome nuke on ISIS and call it a day.

EAT MY SHORTS DUDE

yup

We all know simpsons is a cartoon, but there are tons and TONS of things that go on in the simpsons that are 100% accurate. What happens is they make fun of these things, like with Jack Warner the former FIFA vice president was in simpsons and a guy made fun of him and said he was in corruption and Jack Warner said I never was in the ticket scandal and its the white man who is after me or something of the sort.

Anyways back home here where I am from Jack Warner used to preach the same crap that he is innocent and the white man is trying to frame him when we all know better and we all know he is guilty as fuck.

Like it or not Simpsons is in an incredible piece of creation that on many many cases displays the reality of life and things we are afraid to speak out and things we know are true but don't bother saying it. Their display of some feminist in simpsons as genuine man haters was not inaccurate. They didn't say all feminist are like that but certain crackpots. For example Lisa is feminist but a really nice one.

Who else remembers when Homer promised to go on a diet TOMORROW!! and he said today is my last chance to eat all I could? but only that he NEVER went on the diet and the following day he promised to go on that diet and that day would be his last chance to eat all he could?

guess what thats reality and its exactly what happens to 90% of people who try to go on a diet to get slim and always fail.

To dismiss simpsons as some fake comedy cartoon is pure ignorance.

Is the portion of the troll where you just throw out bogus, and completely made up, statistics?

Sixty percent of the time a simpson's joke works all the time to enumerate a minor subset of some fuzzily defined group!

I haven't watched a new episode of the Simpsons since IT was 15 years old.

Not that it's not a great show.

But it's as much politically slanted as anything else. You might agree more with the perspective it holds, sure, but that doesn't make it accurate. All over the world people mutually believe in some invisible sky daddy, but that doesn't make them right either. Fact isn't dictated by popular opinion (or I'd be fucked).

In other news, you just gave me an awesome song title.

Anyway, saying that something is "100% true" or "100% fact" or that it by its own merit is "the truth" is illogical, and no less extreme than ISIS.

aaaand that made me laugh enough that people came to see what I'm laughing at, now I have to explain this...they're laughing too though so that's good

I always remember when flanders said to Apu "I would have no Hindu's chance in heaven" if I did that.

Showing the ignorance of many Christians who thinks Hindus will go to hell because they don't believe in Christ. When in reality Christ isn't real or any sky god for that matter

Maybe we can all agree on that and be friends and move on?

74% of statistics are made up on the spot, and this comment is at least 40% original.

@john - Nope.. nope.. you are *NOT* going to angle this into some religious troll. You already hit politics and feminism - any more attempts to steer this into conflict will get this topic closed.

^ to be honest I do make up some statistics on the spot.

But I have watched every single episode of simpsons so I know quite a lot about it I am a huge fan of real life parody. Look at chief wiggum he is an incredibly unbelievable and stupid moronic police right? can't be real right?

Guess what in the 3rd world there are quite a bunch of dumb officers just like him.

In contrast to the drivel that you've posted up to this point?

The Simpson's was an inside job.

Is it time to close this shit topic yet? Or are we having actual discussion?

yet not every officer. It's satire. Satire is the exaggeration of real things to comedically frame them in charicature. It's far from 100% accurate by its very nature.

i just wanted to point out that him getting his definitions from the simpsons is WAY funnier than anything i could have imagined.

and that him not being able to comprehend the satire in the simpsons is possibly the MOST simpsons outcome.

also, i work with a german guy who speaks broken english and all i can ever think about when he talks is http://vimeo.com/67544029

ok, closed again.
