Link libraries Code::Blocks

Posted 28 July 2014 - 12:57 PM

I tried to add a .a file to the list of link libraries, but when I build, I'm confronted with the following;

ld.exe||<the path>: Permission denied

I'm an admin on this machine - What?

Try running codeblocks as administrator.

The library could very well be in use. Ensure the file is not in use before trying to compile.

Its more likely that your program is still running press ctrl + alt + delete to bring up Task Manager locate your process kill all running ones (ie your program not all processes).

Rebuild your program.

I looked through my processes, no good. Only stuff running from Google Chrome, Windows, Malwarebytes, and Notepad.

Also, I've had the problem you described before, and I THINK the error is different.

Hmm, what is the .a file you are trying to add ?

and roughly describe the path.... is it somewhere unusual for instance ?

also did you click on show all processes from all users button ?

Snoopy.

Right,

It may also be an antivirus problem, you say you have malwarebytes installed try exiting this program and see if your program will build.

Are you sure? That seems like a bit of a stretch...
Anyway, I have it doing a scan (I may have a virus) so I'll wait until it finishes (in a 1/2 hour or so) and report back.

If shutting the A/V off doesn't help, wouldn't hurt to try a reboot.

Ok.

Sometimes malwarebytes will quarantine suspicious programs...

therefore it would explain the "permission denied" thing...

If your program uses sockets in a non standard way this might be enough for malwarebytes to flag it as suspicious.

Ok, BRB in aprox 1/2 hour. (Can't boot without restarting malwarebytes's scan :-)
