Around the Table

Posted 06 August 2014 - 01:17 PM

So I search through the threads and I couldn't find a similar, so I decided to start one about it.

It is time to talk about : Table top Games
I am talking about D20, Paranoia, Shadow Run, Warhammer 40K, etc.

I recently found my all D20, Shadow Run, and Dead Lands books and it started me reading and wanting to play again. What current campaigns or most recent campaigns is everyone playing (if you are still playing)?

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

I KNOW we had a thread about this within the last year, but for the life of me I can't find it. Personally, I have a gaming group with my hipster, my best friend and her husband, and some of our other friends. We play Pathfinder and/or D&D almost every Saturday night. If we're short more than 50% of our players, we'll usually play CAH or Munchkin instead.

I thought we did too, that is why I looked for it.

I love Munchkin, nothing more fun than using the Level 20 rules with 4 expansions and 8 people.

My wife and I played 3.0/3.5 DnD for a long time together. I have been playing DnD, White wolf, Shadow Run and many, many others for almost 15 years now. Right now, I don't have a group.

Never Played Pathfinder though.

I am pretty sure we did.. I remember throwing out a "roll20.net" plug.

I haven't played in a long time, but:

- D&D.. somewhere about 3.5 was the last set I picked up..
- Hackmaster 4th ed (though HackMaster Basic (free))
- Shadowrun
- Munchkin
Farther back was:
- Diplomacy,
- Warhammer 40k,
- dbag Magic the Gathering,
- some world of darkness,
- and I.C.E. Lord of the Rings game.

Pathfinder draws a lot from 3.5. We interchange a lot of classes/races/magic items/minor rules and regulations between the two on a regular basis.

Never got to play Hack Master, Heard it was fun though.

That Reminds me:
Paranoia was frigging awesome after you played DnD to Epic Levels. We had a guy with huge Ego, needless to say he never made it out of red clearance.

Yea, there was definitely another thread. I even remember modi mentioning Roll20. But anyway, pretty much have only even played Pathfinder. I was in a group that was going well the first half of this year, but that died off back in June. That was a shame. Really liked that character I was doing.

I've been wanting to get into another one, but with classes starting soon I'm not sure I want to. I tried to jump into a one-off game that was listed on Roll20 (that's the only place I play since I don't know anyone that I even have a chance of getting to play offline). That was a flop though. Tried three days to get everyone together and when we finally did, we go about an hour and a half in and didn't get anything done. :dontgetit: Hoping another one pops up soon on a time and day that'll work for me so I can at least play a little more.

As far as pen and paper games go, I have only ever played D&D. I have played multiple versions though (1, 3.5, and most recently 4).

It is sadly getting more and more difficult to play though. We (my group of college friends and I) used to play weekly, but then we graduated and 2 of the members moved out of state while the others moved 45 minutes away from where I live, so we migrated to bi-weekly and online, but that has been becoming less and less frequent in the last few months.

Mmmm tabletop is my bread and butter. Lets see...

Right now I play in a Stargate game after band practice on Sundays, with the rest of the band and a friend of ours. Fridays we alternate between a Shadowrun 5 game and me running a Legend of the Five Rings game.

I've pretty much quit the World of Darkness LARPs I was playing. I've played through a LOT of different systems.

There is a Stargate game. It's...pretty shit actually. The book is very self-contradictory. It uses D20, we kludge it with the pathfinder players guide

I've not played table top games since all my friends went to college, & then I moved away. Those were great times.
