C++ game in browser

Posted 05 September 2014 - 06:57 PM

I generally know how to program (from python, but I am possibly switching based on a few things) have have a c++ game(with graphics) run on a browser, cross-platform (ios even). Even a website where they host it for (free) and can run it with graphics and everything.(short- is there a website or service for free, that can host and play c++ games with graphics)

macosxnerd101 is correct. C++ games cannot be browser-based. You can have a browser-based game execute an application written in C++ to perform some backend functions, but it is not likely you will find a free host that will allow this.

Look into Java though, its applets will run in a browser. I used to write browser-based games in PHP and Perl, but they were mostly text-based with some small graphics.

I know c++ can be interpreted in browser, and I was wondering if anyone knew a website that can interpret c++ and run it cross platform and use a graphics library too.

Sites like IDEOne use a compiler on the server to execute the code, and they pipe the console output to a file. What you are asking isn't possible.

So C++ isn't actually interpreted by the browser.

Not the browser itself yeah, but I meant with javascript or flash or whatnot...but if no one knows of such/is impossible...alright

Instead of making another thread for something quick, is there an easy program I can use that can compile and run c++. I'm looking for something simple with just text-like the IDE that comes with python install.

Yes, it is possible to have a C++ server application and have some server-side tool like PHP communicate with it. The PHP application can then send results to the browser. Javascript and Flash are both client-side technologies.

Regarding an IDE, check out this thread.
