Function that searches part of a string

Posted 18 October 2007 - 08:13 AM

Guys I need a function or method that i could use to search for part of a string from a data base. For instance a statement that does the same as the SQL like statement. i.e. LIKE %AN%. Considering a Database that has a Name field with a record "Mthulisi", it should find a result if somone entered only "Mth" or jus "uli"

Thank you guys
