CHAR TO BYTE IS THERE A WAY?

Posted 29 January 2015 - 06:02 AM

I had to migrate an entire db from sql to oracle (dont ask why) anyways--- oracle took all the varchar2 and turned them into varchar2 (length char) where length is variable

i need them to be varchar2 (length BYTE)

is there a way to convert all these fields?

i know i can use the alter table method but i have 100+ tables with at least 4 varchar2 in each table some may have upwards of 40 varchar2.

thanks

btw i tried running a loop and it doesnt like to convert the tables that way for varchar2-- even though the loop worked for char, date, float

thanks
