need help with gaming pc build

Posted 21 February 2015 - 04:11 AM

in 2012 i had this custom build pc:

intel i7 3.40
4 gb ram
500 WAT power supply
GeForce GT 610 graphic card

it worked great with no problems then it started to suddenly shutdown with no reason at all when im playing or doing anything, the guy at the computer shop told that the problem was with the graphic card and it was causing the computer to shutdown without any reason. i sayed ok. about 3 months ago i bought a new ATI Radeon 5450 HD

what i want to do is to have another ATI Radeon 5450 graphic card so i can have better gameplay experience i searched on google and all i found is that i can assign one graphic card for Physic i really don't know what that means anyway my questions is:

- What is Physic ?
- How to assign a graphic card for Physic ?
- Is it possible to install a second ATI 5450 HD video card ?
- How can i install another ATI 5450 HD video card ?
- What would happen if i installed a new graphic card so i can have 2 ATI 5450 HD cards ?
- If i installed another one and it worked, would i need a better power supply ?
- I Heard that some video cards wont go well with each other, is this true ?
- If the video card i have now wouldn't go well with another same video card, what is the video card that can work with ATI 5450 HD ?
- What those mean ?: Posted Image

If you mean PhysX then heres a usefull link:
http://www.geforce.c...ology/physx/faq

- Is it possible to install a second ATI 5450 HD video card ?: as long as you have 2 PCI-e slots then i think it is possible to put 2 video cards in your computer.
- How can i install another ATI 5450 HD video card ?: Just put it on the PCI-e slot and connect it to the motherboard with the data and power cable BUT make sure you have a good power supply because video cards need kinda alot of power so.
- What would happen if i installed a new graphic card so i can have 2 ATI 5450 HD cards?: then you could play your games with 2 graphics cards. you could play much games on EXTREME SETTINGS.
- If i installed another one and it worked, would i need a better power supply?: Yes i think you need at least 550W or more to run 2 video cards.
- I Heard that some video cards wont go well with each other, is this true ?: Some video cards do not work so well togheter i know if you have 2 nvidia cards they work well togheter with SLI and i think 2 AMD video cards would work well togheter.
- If the video card i have now wouldn't go well with another same video card, what is the video card that can work with ATI 5450 HD?: I think if you have 2 video cards of the same brand then they would work fine togheter.
- What those mean ?: I cant see the image.

i hope this post will clear some thing up for you. If you have any other questions just PM me :)

Do you mean 'physx'? That would only work if the game is 'physx' enabled. Though you would need to have two nvidia cards and not an ati and nvidia installed.. unless you really really want to deal with some shady hacks to get it to work.

Here are instructions:

If you have a pci expressx16 slot, and power.. They probably can't be used in 'CrossFireX' mode., but check the manufacturer's site and the box it came in.

- How can i install another ATI 5450 HD video card ?

Just like you did the first. Find a pci express slot and plug it in.

If they are 'crossfire' compatible then they work in tandem. If not then probably one would work and the other would just suck power.

Typically I would check the recommended power for your card and double it.

- I Heard that some video cards wont go well with each other, is this true ?

Yes.

You'll have to do research on that.
