UK spy agencies gaining access to communications data... Your views ?

Posted 02 March 2015 - 04:27 AM

Hi guys,

I'm currently making a presentation I need to give on the 19th but needs to be handed in tomorrow!

I've came up with a question/problem 'Is it Ethical for the UK Secret Service Agencies to monitor Individuals email & Internet usage ?'

From the above question I'm looking to cover a few things such as the pros (prevention of terrorist attacks) and the cons (Invasion of privacy).

Im also looking for a list of possible solutions to the debate, of course its a broad topic and its not black and white, however I'd like to get a few responses for possible solutions that you think would work. For example: A solution may be to have a higher authority that's independent of the UK secret service that must sign off and give authorization to every single bit of communications tapping.

Views, Ideas, tips for the presentation (roughly 10 slides) which is tight.

Thanks,
James

P.S - I'm a Uni student that's what this is for.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

I'd suggest considering responses to Edward Snowden's revelation of NSA surveillance.

"Solutions to the debate"? Since you are asking folk to do your critical thinking for you which side are you solving for? Pro government monitoring or against government monitoring?

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on ours. Since you aren't doing any of the legwork, I am closing this thread.
