# Signature of the Month (March 2015)

Posted 02 March 2015 - 11:10 AM

Time for another signature of the month competition!

Last month's winner was depricated, for this signature in the 'Abstract' - themed contest:

depricated deliberated on a topic and decided:

-- Infinite Recursion --

He explained:

Quote

A looping gif doesn't count as such. The image should make you think of infinite recursion. And remember that recursion means self-similar.

```Do { } While True;
```
is not necessarily recursive, while
```public int fibonacci(int n)  {
if(n == 0)
return 0;
else if(n == 1)
return 1;
else
return fibonacci(n - 1) + fibonacci(n - 2);
}
```

is

I would imagine this covers things like:

Feel free to discuss what you may try your hand at. It's all up to you!

Rules and important info:
• The contest will run until the 286h of March after which voting will begin.
• Signatures must not exceed 400x100px
• When finished post the signature image on this thread.

.. and more!

Winners will receive this shiny userbar to display in all its 24 carat glory and the right to pick next month's theme.

Good luck!

Oh, and if you are thinking about participating it wouldn't hurt to drop a note here so I can harry those "down to the last minute" sort of folk when the deadline looms!

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Actually you can print the fibonacci sequence with a simple loop

```for(var i = 1, a=1, b=1; i <= 100; i++){
console.log(i, a);
a = b;
b = a+b;
}
```

Let's say, for the sake of the competition, that primitive recursive functions are allowed. I want to try real world recursive stuff, such as this one :

```console.log("I love you");
var litany ="";
(function IKnow(p){
litany += p+" know "
console.log(litany);
p = (p == "I") ? "you" : "I";
IKnow(p);
}("I"));
```

There is room for humour in this topic

Yeah - a simple loop doesn't quite fit the "recursive" theme.

did Google make a joke about recursion? if you type it in it says "did you mean recursion"... oh Google you so funny

Just remember it's the graphic design forum. I do these to hone my patience and skill with GIMP. I'm sure you could come up with an awesome graphical representation of whatever you want to try.

And snoopy I love the infinite snoopies

whilst attempting to participate in this competition, I feel a bit like a puppy at CRUFTS... a bit like a third wheel at a well organised social gathering.

this contest has been going on for so long and there have been so many good entries I'm nervous about joining in and feel disorganised in comparison.
(CRUFTS is a dog show, side note my friends dog was at CRUFTS when he was younger and he wanted to go home so he called it over so they would lose...)

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure what accumulated junk had to do with the price of tea in Black Mesa.

Everyone starts somewhere, and finds a style. Some people, like b9, do on point quotes and a cropped image.. others do: hand drawn, have a boner for animation, express their unholy love for obscure, niche characters, and so on. No problem in participating.

Oh, side note:

How is everyone going on this? I am a little stymied on where I want to go with this. Maybe I need to relax my mental grip on the term "recursion" and see if that shakes an idea loose.
