Website keeps going down - need help troubleshooting

Posted 07 April 2015 - 03:07 PM

Hi!

I'm a total noob at websites and I might be posting this question in the wrong forum, pls direct me.

So I followed a WAMP tutorial, and now I can add pages to my website by adding files to my computer :bananaman:

Everything's fine and dandy, but every 30 minutes or so, the website "stops working" -- as in the page keeps loading and "downforeveryoneorjustme.com" says that the "website is down"

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can go about trying to find the source of this problem?

One thing I noted, this only happens when the traffic is high, and my apache error log gets spammed with this everytime it happens:
[Tue Apr 07 18:00:18.054000 2015] [mpm_winnt:warn] [pid 1069084:tid 1940] (OS 64)The specified network name is no longer available. : AH00341: winnt_accept: Asynchronous AcceptEx failed.

The website: "http://cdelphinus.com/" or "http://mormontd.com"
So how do I go about figuring out why it stops working once there's decent traffic? :whatsthat:

I can share any logs/files you want from me.

Because your Apache logs state that a windows resource is no longer available, I would check the windows system logs under the event viewer.

What do you do to fix the issue? Restart the Apache service or reboot the macheine?

Also this topic belongs under web servers & hosting. The question has nothing to do with development. Moving....

Windows event viewer? This?
Posted Image

These appear 2 seconds apart, every ~10ish minutes:
The wampapache service entered the stopped state.
The wampapache service entered the running state.

every half hour:
Your computer was successfully assigned an address from the network, and it can now connect to other computers.

To fix it I just click "Stop All Services" and then "Start All Services" on WAMP

Did you try shooting a Book of Mormon at the web server?

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

It looks like there are quite a few people talking about that error message:

https://www.google.c...=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

but every 30 minutes or so, the website "stops working"
...
every half hour:
Your computer was successfully assigned an address from the network

I wonder if those are related. Maybe look into using a static IP address on your local network, or change DHCP to increase the time between address renewal.

Running a dedicated server on dhcp is bad idea every time.

Hahaha

TYVM! I'll try both solutions (the first one being Win32DisableAcceptEx)
I'll get back if it happens again.

From experience, think of power surge, printer, router, pc, & dhcp. What comes up in what order? But at the time you are attaching them to the network...
