Finding specific area of the picture in a group of pictures

Posted 26 April 2015 - 01:19 PM

So I have a picture. On this picture there is a part which I would like to find in another pictures, too.
It's not about similarity as this pictures can all score like 80% or above in similarity. It's about finding that specific area also in another pictures.
Any software to able to do this?

Why?

It's the same as asking for any kind of support, because anything can be found by trail and error searching by Google.

So why would sort of question bother you?

I can spend 10+ hours of trying to figure out how exactly to searching this kind of thing (how to specify search), downloading, installing and testing all the free programs available.

... or I can ask a question on a big forum with all sorts of experts where there is good chance someone can be found which is doing or has done before this exact thing and by this saves me of 10+ hours of work.

It's not like HE will do the work. He will just give me the answer.

So how exactly is my question not OK to you?

You are misreading what I said. You posted "On this picture there is a part which I would like to find in another pictures, too." that is pretty vague requirements.

How is this area identified?
What are the implications of various hue/picture quality changes?
Is this some sort of 'facial recognition'
What are the parameters for a match since "It's not about similarity"?
.. etc.. etc..

In general - chillax, brah.

I'm so sorry. I have this "Everyone is against me" attitude somewhere in my brain coded (I would delete if there would be a software available), and I connect anything that comes close to that. Well, in fact I just didn't understand the word. If I did, it wouldn't looked offensive to me. Now I get it what it means.

OK. It's like that. Area is small, around 20x20 pixles. There is a number in this area. "95.5%" for example. I would like to find the other pictures where this area appears. It's not a facial recognition. It's just about finding this (Posted Image) in any of other pictures.

The only thing is the color around the text (number) may be different, not always the same, so what I'm basicly searching is this "99.5%" and color is always white.

Is that coming from a screen cap of a game, some betting site, poker, sports, or where? Narrow down the scope/source of variance for me.

It is an attemp to prove this the other 4.5% never happens. So from hunders of thousands of pictures finding this situation and trying to prove it is a fraud. It is a moral act of finding the truth. It's about math and possibly putting up a sue case.

So no cheating or anything like that for sure. :)

EDIT: the answer is, is someone finds it helpful, "content based image search". imgSeek is one of the freewares avaliable.

The problem with this software is it only does 256 pictures at most. So I would have to arrange thousands of pictures into the seperate folders of 256 ...

What I'm actualy searching is, in other terms, an OCR to find a "95.5%" text in pictures, and this OCR would have to do it automaticly.
