Being redirected to SearchingResult.Com

Posted 29 May 2015 - 06:58 AM

I had to turn on my AdBlock for the site because when I leave the main DreamInCode.Net page and go into any forum, I'm being redirected to searchingresult.com

Thinking it might be my machine, I just tried 3 other machines and all three of them are doing it. I also just remoted to a clients machine and tested it with the same result.

Turning on AdBlock does stop it.

2 of the machine are on the most recent version of FireFox and the other is using IE11 all machine are Win7

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

This has been noticed by some of the team members, and has been reported to the higher-ups.

I found out about it during my morning routine and checking my DIC emails. Until it is fixed, I can't do anything on my phone with the site and that is where I have been browsing lately.

My wife checked the site and had the same issue and she has never been before.

When I open the forum pages, I am being redirected to this site: http://ww15.coolstuf...ashads/?adserve

For now what I do is after the DIC page is loaded, I click the stop from my browser toolbar before the page is redirected.

I can see from the other forums that the others are being redirected to another site besides his one.

DreamInCode is a site I've specifically set up ad-block on. I want to support the site, but issues with ads pop up frequently enough (in the past, viruses, timeouts, causing page-load issues to to my work's filters on sketchy sources) that I've just decided to leave them off here. It would be nice to have some confidence that I can turn them back on.

Gotta agree. I know I'm "staff" here, but the ads are not subtle or non-intrusive, and they've been a vector for malware in the past as well. Sorry, but I recommend an AdBlocker for DIC, at least until this is sorted.

This should now be resolved. Some files were re-cached from an old dataset this week that introduced an old bug that allowed an XSS to run.
