Setting up MEAN stack in Ubuntu Server

Posted 12 June 2015 - 07:29 AM

Hi there, a total noob here. I'm trying to get into the whole MEAN development thing, I'm working in my computer with a VM running Ubuntu Server (i followed this guide).

So far so good, I tested the boilerplate project by going ipaddress:3000, now I want to start doing my own project, where do i need starting putting my files? I tried using the IDE on my desktop connected to an FTP therefore transferring files to the server but still without success. How does one approach developing this way? Im lost with all the directories and so on…

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

anywhere you like. you only need to tell Node.js where to find the files in the file system. although I would avoid folders typically used for the OS.

if you’re working with a proxy server before Node (e.g. nginx) to serve static files, then those static files need to be placed appropriately for that proxy server.
