Stupid Java Security Settings Block Application

Posted 11 August 2015 - 03:03 PM

Hello all,
I am trying to run an application that I downloaded but Java keeps blocking it. I have tried downloading older versions of Java and many other things. I have also tried add the program to Java Security Exception List but to add it you either have to have a html link or IP address. However you will notice in the screen snipping included in this post that where I was informed to look for the IP address or HTML link doesn't exist. Please help. :helpsmilie:/> Attached Image

From what I can tell the only solutions/workarounds are listed here.

https://www.java.com...ava_blocked.xml

Maybe try googling the application name and java blocked.

ex: 'notepad++ java blocked'

If you downloaded it, why are you seemingly trying to execute it through a browser?

Precisely how are you attempting it then? And what file is being executed? btw - you don't need an Internet connection to use a browser

I click the start button down in the bottom left corner. Then type Need For Madness 2 into the search box. I wait for the application to pop-up then click on it to start the application. In the attachment I am uploading, I am aware that Need For Madness 2 is not under the search results. I recently uninstalled it with intentions of reinstalling it.Attached Image

Moved to Computer Support -> Software -> Windows as this isn't Java programming.

Unfortunately that's not helpful - because of the stupid way that Windows hides file extensions by default. You should disable 'Hide known file extensions' for your own sanity at least (Google it). Then repost that

You do know that the reason Need for Madness 2 isn't listed in the search is it doesn't exist. Remember I uninstalled it.

Let's start again. Your problem is that you are trying to run an app and it's getting blocked. What is that app, where is it, and how are you trying to run it?
