moving visual studio 2013 to a mobile hard drive ?

Posted 26 August 2015 - 08:37 AM

hello. with time my laptop started to get kinda slow and got infected with frutas and when i start it up i get the error:

Java virtual machine launcher
Error:Unable to access jarfile
C:\users\ag\appdata\roaming\frutas\DivXupdate.jar

and i gave up, now im moving files to a mobile hard drive (1tb), and i want to move microsoft visual studio 2013 to it.. but how can i do it in the best way possible ?

note:if i posted this in the wrong section, im sorry

and also. i want to do the remove everything and reinstall windows option (win8.1) but it says here: http://windows.micro...efresh-reset-pc
it says:

in most cases, once you start to refresh or reset your PC, it’ll finish on its own. However, if Windows needs missing files, you’ll be asked to insert recovery media, which is typically on a DVD disc or thumb drive. If that happens, what you’ll need depends on your PC.

on my laptop cartoon (HP Laptop 2013, came with win8) dont have a disc or a thumb... how can i slove this if it ever happend ?

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

You make them. It's been that way for most of the last five to seven years. There's should have been a big button on the desktop, or, at least, something in the 'start' menu.

You really don't. Visual Studios installs files in places to work. It's pretty integrated with the OS. Maybe make a virtualbox thumb drive with an OS running and VS inside side VM. http://www.vbox.me/

.. or look at alternatives..

Look at your laptop. Look in the start menu. Search for 'backup' or 'recovery'. I have zero idea what your laptop make or model is to event venture a specific guess.

Running any process from a "mobile drive" is a bad idea, because it bandwidth of the architecture is going to be the bottle neck of the processing speed.

It will run hella-slow.
