WINDOWS 10 EARHPHONES NOT WORKING

Posted 06 September 2015 - 03:46 AM

Hi,

My brother gon an issue that i couldn't solve. So yesterday he updated to the newest version of windows (10)
And now his earphones (plug no USB) aren't working anymore.

We tried to select them in the device list but its not even there anymore. If he plugs in the sounds from the speakers stop
but there is no sound coming from the earphones.

Does anyone have the same problem or issue or does someone know how to fix?

Pls let us know

So, it's NOT a USB thing, right? (That's not a typo?)

If it's just a normal headphone jack, the problem would be the sound card. Probably a driver issue. I'd suggest re-installing those drivers, or looking for an update. Might need one for the updated OS.

Or it could be that some hardware component is messed up. Impossible for us to tell from here.

If you haven't already, you should look for advice specifically regarding the devices you are using. It's highly unlikely this is a generic problem with Windows 10. I can all but guarantee this is an issue with those specific devices and their software.

Is it a RealTek audio driver ?

if so others have had the same problem,

installing the latest driver and rebooting seems to solve the problem.

But as Atli has said we would need more info.

Go to C:\Windows\System32 and run dxdiag.exe.

Copy a screenshot of whatever is found there paying attention in particular to the sound tab.

you can do this with the snipping tool. Or just use the 'save all information' button.

Good Luck.

Snoopy.

Hi its not my computer so I have to wait before I can provide a screenshot. However, can you help me remember how to update your audio drivers?

Look at your system devices.. find the device make and model.. go their website.. find the support.. download the drivers. Probably reboot.
