Server Error in '/' Application. Configuration Error

Posted 17 October 2015 - 04:31 PM

Attempting to display data in a web form as a web page but keep receiving this error message with the below code highlighted saying this name has already been entered however when I delete the line of code it asks to be deleted it appears with a different error message, any help appreciated. Cheers

Line 12:     <add name="b0028918ConnectionString1" connectionString="Data Source=(LocalDb)\v11.0;Initial Catalog=aspnet-WebSite1-84bebd71-ae7a-4504-b3e1-0c512ed08c5e;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\aspnet-WebSite1-84bebd71-ae7a-4504-b3e1-0c512ed08c5e.mdf;Integrated Security=SSPI"
Line 13:       providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
Line 14:     <add name="b0028918ConnectionString1"
Line 15:          connectionString="Data Source=codd\awa2;

this name has already been entered

You are using the same name "b0028918ConnectionString1" twice.

(Why would a data source have a backslash? I don't recall seeing this.)

Question moved to WebForms subforum.

Named instances of SQL server. It's possible to have more than one installation on a single machine, assuming they are named. When connecting to a named instance, the pattern is hostName\sqlServerName.

Thank you. Doi! I was being dim, I see this all the time ;) For some reason I wasn't associating codd with the host, although that name would make sense. Edgar
